About the room
Buttercups is the quietest room in the house. It has soft mats, low shelves of baskets to empty and fill, a mirror at crawling height and a separate sleep room with cots, so babies can nap whenever they need to.
Every baby has a key person who does most of their feeds, changes and cuddles, and who you'll talk to at drop-off and pick-up. We follow your routine from home rather than putting babies on ours.
A day in the room
Babies keep to the feeds and naps they have at home, so this is only the rough shape of the day.
7:30am
Arrive, a cuddle with your key person and breakfast if they haven't had one.
9:00am
Songs, treasure baskets, tummy time and messy play with things that are safe to taste.
10:30am
Out in the garden or a walk round the orchard in the big pram.
11:30am
Lunch, from purées to finger food, cooked here that morning.
Afternoon
Naps in the sleep room, then sensory play, stories and tea at 3:30pm.
What to pack
Nappies, wipes and cream (or we can supply them)
Formula or expressed milk, labelled with their name
Two sets of spare clothes
A comforter or dummy if they use one
A sun hat in summer and a warm hat in winter
Label everything, especially wellies. Every pair looks the same at 5pm.

Come and see us
The best way to choose a nursery is to visit one.
Look round with your little one, meet the room leaders and ask anything you like. Visits take about 45 minutes, any weekday.
